The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night face parte din triogia Spyro the Dragon si a fost dezvoltat de Krome Studios (Wii, PS2), The Fizz Factor (Nintendo DS) si Griptonite Games (GBA) . Jocul este distribuit de Sierra Entertainment pentru PlayStation 2 si de Game Boy Advance pentru Nintendo DS si Wii.The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night continua povestea din The Legend of Spyro : A New Beginning , episod care s-a incheiat cu infrangerea lui Cynder, balaurul negru aflat in slujba lui Dark Master. In The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night un nou adversar , Gaul - the Ape King, este la putere si incerca sa il readuca pe Dark Master .Asuma-ti rolul dragonului Spyro si urmeaza-ti drumul de-a lungul celor 13 niveluri de actiune intensa (zbori, sari, aluneci, treci prin foc) unde te asteapta 8 inamici pe masura. Obiectivul tau este sa impiedici intoarcerea lui Dark Master. Pentru a-si recapata puterile pierdute la sfarsitul episodului trecut, Spyro pleaca in cautarea copacului ce ii apare in vis si a balaurului numit The Chronicler, in timp ce Ignitus cauta ajutor impotriva lui Gaul. Spyro descopera ca Gaul au creat o baza de pe Munte din Malefor, cunoscuta sub numele ’’Well Of Souls’’ si are in plan folosirea alinierii lunare (numita The Eternal Night ) pentru a-si atinge scopul. De asemenea, el descopera ca Cynder este prizoniera acestiua si apeleaza la Chronicler pentru a-l ajuta sa o elibereze. Ajunsi la Muntele Malefour lupta incepe . O imensa energie negativa degajata de alinierea lunara este atrasa de Spyro care o foloseste pentru a-l distruge pe Gaul.Vocea lui Spyro este interpretata de Elijah Wood, Gary Oldman interpreteaza vocea batranului dragon Ignitus, iar David Spade pe cea a prietenului lui Spyro pe nume Sparx.Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night nu este doar un simplu joc de actiune oferind, de asemenea, o serie de puzzle-uri provocatoare, care necesita noile puteri ale lui Spyro.Povestea continua in Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
