A Control Room in a Briefcase
The Slate Portable is a highly portable version of a Slate system that
can go anywhere easily. The monitor and keyboard and touchpad are
built-into the cover. Fold it closed and it is highly compact, just
10x13.7x17.3 inches ( 254 x 346 x 438 mm). There is carrying handle
on top, or put it in the included roll around case with wheels and a
handle. It's an entire control room in a 45 pound (20 Kg) box, complete
with switcher, multi-view monitoring, clip store, CG, graphics and
format conversion. Just add cameras and audio for a complete studio.
Great Switcher
Like all Broadcast Pix Slate systems, it starts with a great hybrid switcher. Every Slate Portable has 8 live inputs for cameras and other external devices, plus an internal clip store with key and 5 graphics channels, each with key. You can add a second channel of clip store as an option. The 8 live inputs are available in all HD/SD SDI, all SD SDI, or analog, or split it into four and four of any two types. Three to six keyers each include a DVE. Control it from the touchpad on the multi-view or a SoftPanel, or order it with a touch-screen built-in and just touch the multi-view to select sources, keys, graphics, etc. You can also add a wide variety of control panels, including the affordable Slate 100 panel or the powerful 1 M/E panel from the Slate 1000. You can even upgrade the Slate Portable into a 2 M/E switcher by adding either a 2 M/E SoftPanel or the large 2 M/E panel from the Slate 5000.
With Fluent, the ultimate live production workflow software
Only Slate switchers include Fluent workflow software, which turns the switcher into a powerful integrated production system. The Slate Portable has an up to 200 hour Fluent clip store with audio, 5 channels of Fluent graphics and Harris Inscriber CG. Its Fluent watch-folders streamline the flow of clips and graphics from all over your studio. Its Fluent multi-view provides unprecedented feedback including sources, tally, keys, clips, graphics, file names, counters and clocks. Its Fluent Macros combine switcher moves and specific file recalls. Plus, Broadcast Pix device control options control cameras, audio mixers and servers
