FOREX MARKET
The US ISM Non-Manufacturing for August came out at 57.0, slightly higher than expected, showing that the economy of
US continues to perform robustly. However, later on Fed's Beige Book expressed concern regarding the housing market,
as they foresaw further weaknesses. Meanwhile, the report said that inflation is under control and this view is reducing
substantially the chances that Fed will continue on the tightening cycle. The dollar bulls are expected to calm down after
these recent figures and send the USD on a dovish bias. For the moment the EUR/USD is traded in the 1.2800 zone,
however we expect that the pair will be heading towards 1.2900 zone in the next days.
The Romanian currency rallied on Wednesday until 3.5140 zone on back of favourable attitude of investors towards the
emerging markets. S&P decision to upgrade Romania�s outlook to positive from stable might have sustained the domestic
currency.
On September 7th, the local forex market opened at 3.5210 level, but soon the bids fell until 3.5165 level. However, the
domestic currency could not maintain its gains and climbed gradually to 3.5250 zone until noontime on back of strong
demand for the euro coming from corporative clients.
MONEY MARKET
The overnight interest rates freezed in the 8.25-9.25% zone and it is likely that they will remain flat for the remaining of
the week.
