FOREX MARKET
The EUR/RON market has moved little yesterday, with some selling pressure still visible however. The opening
bids stood at 3.5050. Shortly after a day high was made at 3.5070, sellers reappeared to push the Euro to 3.5030 at
the close. A new short term low was touched briefly at 3.50.
Today significant selling orders have prompted dealers to quote 3.4970 directly at the market open. After the
opening minutes, the Euro managed to recover somewhat to 3.5010 and now bids stand at 3.50.
After the EUR/USD ranged yesterday for much of the session between 1.2520 and 1.2550, the greenback managed
in late US trade to make another good run versus the Euro as it was bought to 1.25 sharp. Today the pair is back in
a range between 1.2510 and 1.2530.
MONEY MARKET
Yesterday O/N rates for RON deposits had decreased by 0.5% due to an NBR depo reaching maturity. Today the
yields are back to where they started with average quotations of 8/8.5, although the lenders still seem eager on the
offer side.
